Divorce
If a pensioner divorces, any retirement benefits upon death will be paid only to unmarried children below 21 years old including disabled children.
Pension will be paid through the children’s legal guardian and the pension money will be managed by Amanah Raya (Public Trustee). The guardian must obtain certification of the children’s guardianship from a commissioner for oaths, court or Qadi’s Office so as to be eligible to receive the derivative pension on behalf of the children.
Bankrupt/ Incarcerated Pensioner
If the MAF pensioner is adjudged a bankrupt or is incarcerated, pension will be stopped immediately. However, the pensioner or his dependant may be paid Alimentary Allowance equivalent to a service pension and the service gratuity which should be received after deducting all debts. The payment of this allowance requires the approval of the AFC . To process the AFC papers for the payment of this allowance, the following documents are needed:

Appointment of Legal Personal Representative
A pensioner or the beneficiary of pension who is ill or unable to manage the pension money may appoint a personal representative from among trusted family members. This personal representative will be given the approval to withdraw the pension money every month on behalf of the pensioner/beneficiary of the pension. The conditions for the application of legal personal representative are as follows:
