The Ex-servicemen Card (ESC)
is issued to eligible former MAF officers and servicemen to identify them as ex-servicemen of the MAF. As a card holder, an ex-serviceman and his/her dependants are eligible for free medical treatment at government hospitals/clinics. Application for the card at the DVA may be made by submitting:

1 photocopy of identity card each of ex-serviceman and wife/husband (married in service).

2 photocopy of Service Acknowledgement Book (BAT D 92/ BAT D 86/ BAT B 84)

1 copy of photograph of ex-serviceman (write military number at the back of the photograph)

Concession from Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB)
Veterans are eligible for concessionary KTM fare of the Regular Mail Train and the Senandung Malam Express Mail Train of 25% (by producing the ESC). Senior citizens of 60 years and above are eligible for a 50% discount of the travel fare.
Warrior and National Defence Trust Fund Aid (WNDTF) under the supervision of the Armed Forces Headquarters (MAF Headquarters).
If a military officer or personnel dies or suffers injury during active duty, he is also eligible to receive aid from the WNDTF but on condition that his pension is less than RM450.00 a month. The aid provided is as follows:

Maintenance Aid. The WNDTF shall cover the difference in the pension of the pensioner or the widow (if the pensioner is deceased) of up to RM450.00. This aid is also extended to children below 18 years old at the rate of RM30 to RM60 per month. If the deceased was unmarried at the time of death, this aid will be given to his parents receiving a pension less than RM225.00. This fund shall cover the difference of up to RM225.00 only.

Schooling Aid. Children are also eligible for this aid at the rate of RM90.00 (kindergarten) to RM1,500.00 (higher learning) per annum. If the percentage of disability of a pensioner is 100%, this aid is not subject to the condition of the pension being below RM450.00.

Orthopaedic Equipment Aid. A pensioner is also eligible to be given aid of prosthetic limbs, walking stick, wheelchair and the maintenance of the orthopaedic equipment. This aid is given while still in service as well as after retirement regardless of whether the full pension received is over or below RM450.00 a month. To obtain this aid, a pensioner may contact the DVA for further information.
