Who is eligible?

A Malaysian citizen who has served full-time in any of the following services:

Ex-MAF personnel

  1. Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF)

  2. MAF Reserve Unit-Mobilised.

Ex-non MAF personnel

  1. Force 136

  2. British Army serving in Malaya/Singapore

  3. Sarawak Rangers 1.2 Dependants

Ex-MAF personnel

  1. Self

  2. Spouse

    Legally married and registered spouse during service and whose name is recorded in Service Acknowledgement Book and Ex-Serviceman Card.

    Spouse married after retirement is eligible only for medical benefits during the lifetime of the MAF veteran. If the MAF veteran dies, the eligible period is calculated as 12 ½ years from the date of the MAF veteran’s retirement.
  3. Children

  4. Children who are considered dependants are the MAF veteran’s own children including adopted children, stepchildren, as well as illegitimate children raised fully by the MAF veteran subject to the following age limits:

  • Below 18 years of age

  • No age limit for children who are disabled/ deprived/ mentally challenged

  • If the child was born normal but subsequently suffered disability/ retardation (due to fever, accident and the like) after the age of 18, the MAF veteran must obtain supporting documentation namely registration or confirmation from the Social Welfare Department and a government doctor’s certification that the disability/ retardation is permanent.

Ex-non MAF personnel
